Mercedes’ Autonomous Bus tested in Netherlands
CityPilot of Mercedes Benz’s self-sufficient transport drove around the lanes of the Netherlands to test if the transport can perceive activity signs, walkers and different impediments.
The CityPilot (Mercedes’ Autonomous Bus) has a GPS, radar and dozens of cameras incorporated with the vehicle itself, allowing it to predict activity signs, people on foot, and different obstructions. The transport has a speed of 70km/h or you can say approx. 43 mph and all this data taken together controls the vehicle to position itself inside inches of bus stops. Bus is also connected to urban network which allows the bus to communicate with traffic signals and city infrastructure
